The Events Rolex Sponsors and How They Made the Company Who They Are

Rolex has sponsored major sporting events all over the world, showcasing to spectators how fine craftsmanship and team work can come together in a wide venue of events. There are essentially seven major sporting categories in which Rolex is proud to offer their sponsorship. Each of these events allows Rolex to help maintain a degree of dignity in these sports, which once solely appealed to dignitaries and upper-class people. These athletes have to channel the accurate timing and precision of Rolex to win.

Skiing
In skiing, Rolex sponsors the Hahnenkamm races which take place in Kitzbuhel, Austria. This race features one of the most demanding courses of the skiing World Cup. Skiers compete in three different styles as the Super-G, Downhill, and Slalom. Each skier races through the slopes as fast as possible in order to emerge victorious. A wrong move could jeopardize their finish so they must constantly be aware of their timing.

Equestrian Sports
Rolex sponsors the FEI World Cup in horseback riding which tests the skills of riders from around the world. Each category of competition depends upon the ability for both the rider and horse to work as a synchronized pair. Only by working together and training for years can they emerge victorious over all of the other pairs competing. The best riders in the world see this as the ultimate title.

Underwater Exploration
Few are brave enough to attempt to travel to the North Pole let alone dive beneath the icy waters. Those that do remark on how pristine and untouched the world is below there. By sponsoring the event Deepsea Under the Pole, Rolex shows how it pushes itself to be there with the explorers to help provide them with accurate timing of everything that they note.

Golf
Golf is a game that requires not only hand-eye coordination but also precisely the right degree of strength and angle to sink a shot. Rolex watches sponsors five tournaments: U.S. Open Championship, The Open Championship (Britain), Evian Masters, The Ryder Cup, and the President's Cup. All of these draw in skilled professionals from around the world who compete against each other to see who will reign supreme.

Tennis
Tennis was originally designed to be the sport of upper-class England but has since spread to encompass the upper-class of most English speaking societies. Wimbledon, Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, and the Australian Open are all sponsored by Rolex. Each of these sees the best players come to compete against each other in hopes of winning.

Motor Sports
The Goodwood Revival is sponsored by Rolex in which early 20th century restored cars race against each other. Le Mans 24 Hours motor car race involves driving at fast speeds and enduring the strain of doing so for 24 hours. This is considered to be the the most strenuous event in racing. For the more typical American motor sport fan, there is the Rolex 24 at Daytona in which stock cars race against each other.

Yacht
There has always been a special bond between Rolex and the sea which becomes apparent when examining the yacht races which it sponsors. One example is the Rolex Swan Cup. It occurs every two years in which a team of skilled sailors race against each other off the coast of Sardinia. Sardinia is also the place for the other yacht event which Rolex watches sponsors: Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. This competition draws sailors from around the world as they compete with agility and endurance. For the more adventurous sailor, the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race takes place every year on Boxing Day in the Sydney Harbor. As the team moves through the Bass Strait, an unpredictable hazard, anything could happen. Rolex sponsors the Rolex Fastnet Race which pits sailors against the Celtic Sea every two years as well. For a more interesting sort of challenge, the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship states that all yachts must have the same weight. For 96 hours the yachts compete against one another hoping to emerge victorious.

No matter what your sport is, Rolex is proud to sponsor some of the most elite competitions. In the end, it doesn't come down to who has the better equipment. It all depends on who has the best skills and the most precision to ensure their victory over their opponents.
